Frequently asked questions About Uganda Safaris
Uganda stands out for its combination of classic savannah wildlife and rare primate experiences. It is one of the only places on earth where you can see mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, tree-climbing lions, and the Big Five in the same trip, all within a compact distance.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the top gorilla trekking destination, known for multiple habituated gorilla families spread across four sectors. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is another option with fewer crowds and equally rich forest scenery.
As of now, a Uganda gorilla trekking permit costs USD 800 for foreign non-residents. It grants you one hour with a mountain gorilla family, guided by experienced rangers.
Uganda is considered safe for travelers, especially in safari regions. National parks are well-protected, guides are trained, and tourism routes are structured. As with any destination, normal travel awareness is recommended.
The best months are the dry seasons: June to September and December to February. Trails are easier for trekking, wildlife is easier to spot, and the climate is comfortable for outdoor adventure.
