Day 2 – Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Onward to Murchison Falls
After breakfast, depart Kampala for Nakasongola District, where the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary proudly stands as Uganda’s only home for wild rhinos. The 3–4-hour drive takes you through the central plains, offering glimpses of Uganda’s countryside life.
Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a guided rhino tracking walk — an exhilarating experience that allows you to approach these magnificent creatures on foot in the company of trained rangers. Ziwa is a conservation success story, reintroducing rhinos to Uganda after they were wiped out in the 1980s. Beyond rhinos, the sanctuary hosts a variety of bird species and small antelopes, adding to the charm of the experience.
After lunch, continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest park. You’ll arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, and enjoy dinner as you listen to the distant roar of the Nile.

Day 3 – Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise
Wake up to the golden light of dawn for your first game drive across the northern plains of Murchison Falls. This is the best time to spot predators such as lions and leopards, as well as herds of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and countless antelopes. The vast savannah, framed by the Albert Nile, makes every scene picture-perfect.
After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls — one of the most spectacular experiences in Uganda. As you glide upriver, you’ll see hippos bobbing in the water, crocodiles basking on the banks, and elephants wading along the shore. The birdlife is rich, with kingfishers, bee-eaters, and fish eagles adding color to the landscape.
The boat stops a few meters from the base of the falls, where you can feel the immense power of the Nile as it forces its way through a narrow 7-meter gorge. Return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night in the wild.
Day 4 – Hike to the Top of Murchison Falls & Leisure Afternoon
After breakfast, embark on a guided hike to the top of the falls. The trail winds along the riverbank with spectacular views of the water crashing through the gorge and plunging into the Devil’s Cauldron below. It’s a breathtaking moment to witness the full force of the Nile and feel its mist on your face.
After your hike, you’ll return to the lodge for relaxation, swimming, or an optional nature walk around the area. For photography enthusiasts, the evening light over the savannah creates magical colors ideal for capturing unforgettable moments.
Day 5 – Morning Game Drive & Visit to Budongo Forest (Optional)
Begin the day with another morning game drive in search of animals you might have missed earlier. You can explore different sectors of the park for a chance to spot elusive species such as hyenas or the shy oribi antelope.
Later, you may opt for an afternoon visit to Budongo Forest Reserve, located in the southern sector of the park. Budongo is home to a thriving population of chimpanzees and a canopy of ancient mahogany trees. A guided forest walk offers a peaceful change of pace and an opportunity to learn about the forest ecosystem and birdlife.
Return to your lodge for dinner and your final night in Murchison Falls National Park
Day 6 – Return to Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way. Reflect on your safari’s highlights — from rhinos and lions to the thunderous might of Murchison Falls — as you cross the lush countryside once more. Depending on your flight schedule, you may be dropped off directly at the airport for your departure.
